Poll results: Have you ever taken a polar plunge?

I’m impressed, 33% of Yooper Steez readers say they have done a polar bear plunge. I would love to hear some stories. So if you’ve taken the polar plunge please leave a comment sharing your experience. Did you lose a bet? Did you go into shock? Would you do it again? Do you do it every year? Was it a fundraiser for a great cause?
And if you plan on doing one next winter, be sure to make sure there’s a hole in the ice first…

Come on folks, have you REALLY taken a “Polar Plunge?” Or did you just jump in the lake after a sauna? I’ve done the latter, but in July so it was not close to “polar.” The temperature difference was still shocking, though.
Yes, I have - Lake Michigan twice, A local lake as soon as the ice broke up into smaller icebergs & a skating pond on accident. lol. All were either just after the ice broke up so there weren’t giant chunks.
