Spring is slowly coming. I think we’re all eager to enjoy the warmer weather, get out our bikes, kayaks, or just a lawn chair and lemonade.
With all this in mind, I’d simply like to ask…
What new places do you want to explore in the Upper Peninsula this spring? Leave a comment and let me know.
Perhaps you’d like to explore a…
- Museum
- Waterfall
- Bike trail
- New town
- Hidden beach
- And the list goes on…
Whatever it is that you’re looking to explore this spring in the Upper Peninsula, leave a comment and I’ll compile a list of all the great places readers are looking to visit.

When my hubby gets home from Iraq, we will be heading up north to the U.P. staying in Curtis visiting family and over in Rapid River for some fishing.
We was there last summer and took our kids all over the place.
I would love to know where there are some waterfalls, other than the Upper and Lower Taq (can’t remember how to spell it) falls.
Also are there some good places to get Pasties on U.S. 2 other than in Brevort (that Jeanie’s place is awesome).. thanks so much.
Pam
I want to explore the Sturgeon River Gorge and Silver Mountain, on horseback if possible. Great place to see and visit!
We will be visiting the 3rd week of May. 2 things on our list are:
1.Seney Wildlife Refuge-we love it there and have never visited in May.
2. Waterfalls around Marquette and area’s west.
Mulligan Swamp and Blind 35 fo’ sho’.
I want to go camping on Grand Island, also, would love to head up to the Keweenaw Peninsula!
I would like to boat across to Isle Royale national Park or tour any of the Light Houses.
Hey Pam,
If you want to check out waterfalls…check out Bessemer and Ironwood…Little Girl Point and all areas…BEAUTIFUL AREA!!!!!!!!!!
Mushr00ms are extra….
I would like to hunt for Lake Superior agates and other gemstones.
Manitou Island. About 2 miles off the coast of of High Rock Bay (tip of the keweenaw)
I’m looking to check out some water falls and towns that I have not been to yet since I came to the UP 3 years ago.
Grand Island - near Munising I believe. It actually has a good size lake on it. I talked to
a guy when I was Ice Fishing one winter whose
family had owned it. He had a dog that would pull his sled out to his ice shack. I sure did alot of
ice fishing in Munising Bay. Be sure to take the
boat ride to view the shore line.
